Manavalakurichi unit (MK) is located at a distance of 25 kms North West of Kanniyakumari in Tamil Nadu. All weather major seaports ‘Toothukudi’ (Tamil Nadu) and Vizhinjam (Kerala) is located at a distance of 100 kms and 55 kms respectively. The nearest Airport at Thiruvananthapuram is located at a distance of 65 kms from the MK plant. Nagercoil, the district headquarter located at a distance of 18 kms from the plant is the closest Railway Junction.

The entire coastal stretch of Kanniyakumari District is endowed with rich heavy mineral deposits. The total Mineral Production capacity of MK Mineral Separation Plant compromising Ilmenite, Rutile, Zircon, Garnet is 1,14,600 tonnes per annum.

Plant operates with state-of-the-art equipment in mineral separation and has Quality Control Laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art testing facilities and a multi-disciplinary team comprising of Petrologists and Chemists for quality assurance. Plant is compliant to ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001-2015 (Environment Management System), ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (NABL Accreditation) for Quality Control Laboratory.
